Good Pain refers to a type of pain obtained through proper massage that can alleviate unfavorable conditions. When a massage therapist applies pressure and releases with a careful mind, Good Pain rises and subsides like waves washing over a shore, carrying away the negative state; the damaged parts of the receiver's body also recover accordingly.
From the perspective of philosophy of mind, pain is often viewed as a representative of our most subjective experience (Qualia), which only we ourselves can feel and others cannot truly empathize with. In pain, we are pulled back to the present moment, back to ourselves. Therefore, through Good Pain, we can also focus on our own feelings and return to self-healing from the complex array of matters in our lives.
